Bordeaux-born brothers and previous nightlife impresarios of the legendary Flaming Colossus, Frederic and Nicolas Meschin, opened The Little Door 15 years ago to provide guests with an authentic European atmosphere.
In search of the perfect setting, they transformed the converted old school house into one of the most ambient and romantic restaurants in Los Angeles. With European and Mediterranean motifs, the space resembles a private sanctuary underscored by its discrete little door entrance.
The Little Door menu is a fusion of the brothers’ childhood culinary experience, fresh organic ingredients from local farmers and a twist on the traditional European cuisine. The Mediterranean influences of Chef T. Nicolas Peter bring a worldly flavor to the selection that ranges from Couscous Royale to their Kobe Prime Tenderloin Carpaccio and a smooth Pot de Crème finish.
In an effort to expand on their vision, the Meschins opened an extension to the restaurant, Little Next Door in late 2006. Little Next Door is a classic Mediterranean and French Brasserie/ Wine Bar offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whether you’re in the mood for tasty French Macarons with a cup of Moroccan Mint Tea, or a special Cannellini Bean and Smoked Vegetable Ragu with a glass of Cotes du Rhone, Little Next Door and The Little Door are the perfect escape.
